Charging Trolleys

Charging Trolleys

The PTFA have given the school enough money to buy 5 charging stations for the new IPads and laptops we have accrued this year. Every KS2 class has at least 20 devices, so getting each of these safely charged was becoming a challenge. However, with the new charging stations all devices can be charged safely and stored neatly in each class from Year 2- 6.

Thank you so much to all members of the PTFA for this amazing donation.

Year 6 – ‘I DIG MARGAM’

Year 6 have been chosen to become involved in an exciting local history project to develop the Iron Age site at Capel Mair, Margam Park.

Mr Phil Cope (a local historian) visited our class on Wednesday afternoon to explain the project in more detail. He brought many artefacts to show the major time periods in history and year 6 spent time examining each one, guessing what they were used for and inventing stories about them. All children are looking forward to the planned site visit to Capel Mair next Wednesday and are already inspired to further their knowledge of local history and develop their skills as archaeologists!!

Nursery/Reception – Light Sources

The children in Nursery and Reception have been having lots of fun learning about light sources recently. We have used iPads to take photos of light sources inside and outside of our school, we have made lists and sorted light sources into two categories: natural and man-made, and we have even made our own candle holders using salt dough.

Year 1 – Light Experiment

As part of our theme ‘Mission Moon‘. The children requested a light experiment. They wanted to find out which torch would be best when it gets dark. The children firstly looked at the torches to make their prediction on which they thought was best. Then we used a peephole box to test their predictions.  The children found out that Torch C was the brightest and would be the best to take out in the dark.
