Coed Hirwaun Primary School has very good links with Cwm Brombil Comprehensive School and a planned programme of transition events and activities take place throughout the year. Cwm Brombil Comprehensive School has a very effective pastoral care system and teachers from Cwm Brombil meet regularly with Year 5 and Year 6 pupils in order to foster good relationships and to enable the pupils to feel at ease and familiar before they start in Year 7.

Dyffryn School Estyn Inspection April 2014 (now known as Cwm Brombil Comprehensive School) judged Partnership Working as “Excellent”.

Estyn reported that: “Extensive links with other schools and the local college contribute to high quality care, guidance and provision for pupils. This helps pupils to make significant progress.” Dyffryn “has developed very positive partnerships with local primary schools …. Jointly planned provision and tracking of literacy and numeracy skills with local primary schools is highly effective, well managed and quality assured. These partnerships provide strong support that results in significantly improved provision in partner schools and maintains strong outcomes at Dyffryn School.”

The Headteacher is Mr S. Clarke.

Headteacher Cluster meetings take place on a regular basis to plan transition events and ensure strong links between Cwm Brombil and all the feeder primary schools.
