Year 2 have been using the word ‘reflection’ in their learning about the topic ‘Mission Moon’. We learned about how the moon reflects light from the sun and also about light sources that reflect. So, as part of our Maths we decided to learn about how to use a mirror to reflect an image and make it symmetrical. We were so good at it that Mrs Lewis challenged us to make a BIGGER symmetrical pattern!
We gathered lots of different PE equipment and took it outdoors. We used skipping ropes for lines of symmetry and got to using bats, balls, hoops, shapes and more to make giant patterns! We made symmetrical butterflies, images and objects with our group. We were very proud of our outdoor learning and so was Mrs Lewis! Learning about symmetry was so much fun!
